Key Functions:
· Track and Execute process, equipment and tooling development milestones for new product launch including:

• Perform capacity analysis and develop manufacturing cost estimations with goal to minimize capital expenditure and labor costs

• Design and validate process layouts and process flows

• Design, quote and launch manufacturing equipment, tooling and gages with external suppliers

• Responsible for producing complete process documentation including process flow, PFMEA, standard work.

• Ensure process and equipment capability post-launch

· Reviews product designs and provides feedback to engineering regarding Design for Manufacturing (DFM).

· Hands on manufacturing engineer

· Manufacturing automated assembly processes experience.

· Implements Process Improvements that positively impact productivity and efficiency within the plant

· Capable of design and develop error proofing devices

· Experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis

· Capable to read and draw mechanical drawings and GD&T

· Versed on Lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement methods

· Leads improvement actions, including lean initiatives, on present production processes through optimization of current process equipment, fixtures, and assembly processes to drive continual improvement in throughput, reducing scrap, reducing labor and improving quality.

· Ensures new processes are lean, meet all corporate quality and reliability objectives and comply with government regulations.

· Ensure equipment is reliable and remains operational by identifying required maintenance and repair services, including training and spare parts.

· Maintains product and process records in corporate data bases.

· Provides regular updates to management on process improvements and project status.

Qualifications:
· Minimum of 7 years of Engineering experience.

· Desirable PFMEA, Control, plans, APQP and PPAP experience

· Desirable automotive experience

· Required technical skills: Solid Mechanical Aptitude

· Required robot teaching and troubleshooting experience – 2 years minimum.

· Required PLC troubleshooting experience – 2 years minimum

· Autocad or similar CAD software

· Required PC skills: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Excellent verbal and communication skills.

· Ability to utilize team concepts, along with solid organizational and problem solving skills.

· Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical desired.
